Internships and Volunteering

At the end of the semester you will have ample opportunity to engage in volunteering activities like teaching English, Art or any other subject of interest in local schools or colleges. This is a great opportunity to interact with people from various walks of life where both American and Indian students are equally excited to learn from each other.

All these interactions and activities ensure that you not only gain an insight into the ancient cultural heritage of India but also become aware of the giant strides contemporary India has made in technology, education, economy and most of all, a vibrant democracy that functions and holds together a whole nation of diverse beliefs and languages.

IISAC is in the process of developing internship and volunteership opportunities for enrolled students after their semester at Pondicherry University is complete.

An internship can provide hands-on experience in the following potential fields:

  • Architecture
  • Business & Management
  • Environmental Studies
  • Medical Research
  • Performing Arts
  • Social Science
  • Yoga & Spirituality

Volunteerships typically provide various levels of service to the underprivileged of Indian society. Areas of volunteerships can include:

  • Social work
  • English teaching
  • Food distribution
  • Medical aid
  • And more...
