A semester at Pondicherry University allows you to engage both academically and culturally with India. Pondicherry University is situated just outside of the coastal city of Pondicherry in South India where you are given the opportunity to engage in both Indian studies as well as other disciplines of your choice while enjoying the tropical climate and close proximity to traditional Indian rural life.
You have the opportunity to study for either one semester or one year, with internship/volunteership opportunities in-between and after semesters. Throughout the semester you will have time to explore the surrounding state of Tamil Nadu and its cultural and religious centers while also engaging in the cultural and arts activities which take place on campus and in Pondicherry. Additionally, you will be given the opportunity to take part in IISAC's Experience South India tour prior to arriving to the University where you will explore the three southernmost states of India and receive first-hand exposure to South Indian culture, environment, religion, arts and lifestyle.

- The duration of one semester is typically four months, giving you ample time to plan additional travels within India before or after their semester at Pondicherry.
- Unlike many universities in India, Pondicherry University operates on a Course/Credit/Semester system similiar to U.S. institutions.
- The Fall Semester runs from July to November and Spring Semester runs from January to May
- Classes are typically 3 credits and students generally register for 15 credits per semester to achieve full-time status
